Overview BOSaNOVA LANLynk RAS - Remote Access Server

BOSâNOVA LANLynk delivers a complete, secure, reliable and easy-to-maintain solution providing dial-up Windows users with access to LAN resources via TCP/IP. This unique product consists of a stand-alone remote access server (RAS) unit and Windows-based management software.  (Click here or on picture for technical specifications)

Supporting either 2 or 6 concurrent high-speed modem connections, BOSâNOVA LANLynk is the ideal solution for small remote offices or tele-commuters that wish to provide LAN dial-up access to remote offices, teleworkers, or back-up Internet connection to on-site employees in cases when the standard ISP connection is lost.

Your network and host are secure with BOSâNOVA LANLynk due to an integrated, full-featured firewall and callback mandatory functions. Installation and maintenance are easy using the built-in Windows-based management utility. All LAN resources are available to the remote user as if locally connected to the LAN.

Secure Remote Communications Including Integrated Firewall

BOSâNOVA LANLynk contains a built-in firewall mechanism that allows the system administrator to restrict access to particular iSeries and LAN resources via IP address/range configuration and enable or disable of ports. It also can be configured to limit dial-up access from predefined IP addresses only. Other security functions include dynamic password encryption and optional or mandatory callback definitions.

 Secure access to the midrange host for dial-up users is provided via a built-in firewall.

BOSâNOVA LANLynk consolidates all dial-in activity to a secure server, making it all but impossible to penetrate the host LAN without authorization. The fully integrated firewall suppresses packets that do not meet the domain filtering, creating a transparent firewall to protect sensitive data. Other security functions include defined user total connection time that limits session times for a pre-defined time period, and user idle time where the connection is automatically disconnected if there is no traffic over the line for a pre-defined time period.

 

Easy System Installation and Management

BOSâNOVA LANLynk is exceptionally simple to install and manage. Where other RAS solutions may take hours to implement, BOSâNOVA LANLynk installs in practically a matter of minutes.

Management and configuration of the BOSâNOVA LANLynk system can be carried out from the LAN or remote dial-up connection and is accomplished using a Windows-based management utility.

Advanced management functions are supplied via the built-in Windows-based management software.

The Windows-based management software provides intuitive access to user account definitions and all other system functions from any Windows 95/98/Me/NT/XP/2000 PC.
